Hummus is a delicious and versatile Middle Eastern dip or spread made from chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It’s perfect as a snack or appetizer, and it’s also great as a spread for sandwiches and wraps. Here’s a simple recipe for making hummus at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup of tahini
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: olive oil, cumin, paprika, parsley for topping

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, add the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, water, and salt.
  2. Process the ingredients until they are smooth and well combined. This may take a few minutes.
  3. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  4. To serve, transfer the hummus to a bowl and make a small well in the center. Drizzle with olive oil, cumin, paprika or parsley, or other toppings of your choice.
  5. Serve with pita bread, crackers, or veggies.

Hummus can be enjoyed immediately or can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to a week.

Note: You can customize the hummus to your liking by adding different spices, herbs, or even different types of beans. Experiment with different ingredients to find your perfect hummus recipe.
