Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/3 cup cocoa ( preferably Hershey’s)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts, chopped finely
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1/2 miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9×13 pan with foil and grease the foil.
Melt the butter in a saucepan.
Remove from heat.
Stir in cocoa until smooth.
In a medium bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt and add to egg mixture.
Add cocoa mixture and vanilla.
Beat until smooth and add the nuts.
Spread into the pan.
Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched in the center.
Cool completely.
Make filling mixture: Beat softened cream cheese, softened butter, vanilla in a bowl.
Gradually add powdered sugar until of spreading consistency.
Make glaze mixture: Heat 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tbs water in a small saucepan until boiling.
Remove from head and add chocolate mini chips.
Stir until melted.
Cut cooled brownie in half crosswise.
Spread bottom half of brownie with creamy filling.
Top with the top half of the brownie.
Spread glaze over top.
Cut into bars after glaze has set.
