Ingredients:
1/2 medium onions, finely chopped or grated
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
15 ounces canned tomatoes, chopped well
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/3 cup tomato sauce
4 tablespoons ketchup
4 teaspoons barley malt
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
Directions:
Saute the onion in olive oil in a saucepan until soft, about 3-4 minutes on medium/low heat.
Add the garlic and saute 2 minutes more.
Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, ketchup and stir well. Then add the Barley Malt, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and dry mustard. Combine well.
Simmer for 25 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally until thickened. Let cool.
