Ingredients:
1/2 stick cup butter or 1/2 stick cup margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon grated orange rind
1 cup mashed bananas ( about 2 medium)
2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease two 8-by-4-inch loaf pans.
In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, cream butter, sugar, eggs, and orange peel until light and fluffy.
Beat in mashed bananas.
On waxed paper, combine flour, baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
At low speed, gradually add flour mixture, then buttermilk; beat just until smooth.
Stir in nuts and chocolate.
Evenly spoon into prepared pans.
Bake 1 hour, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
