Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup corn oil
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional) or 1/2 cup pecans (optional)
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup hot water, use only as much as needed
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375-degrees F.
Spray a 10 x 15-inch cookie sheet with sides or a jelly roll pan with non-stick cooking spray (Pam) or grease pan.
Combine first 9 ingredients (flour- cloves) in large bowl and stir to combine.
Stir in nuts (if using) and raisins.
Spoon batter into prepared pan, spreading evenly with a knife or spatula.
Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool bars in pan on rack for 10 minutes while preparing icing.
To prepare icing: blend powdered sugar with water in a small bowl until smooth.
When bars cooled for ten minutes or so, spread icing over bars.
Let bars finish cooling before cutting.
