Ingredients:
2 vidalia onions or 2 walla walla onions
2 cups flour
2 cups fine cracker crumbs
2 cups white cornmeal
2 cups buttermilk
1 cup water
4 cups Crisco
Directions:
Slice onions 1/2 inch thick, do not use the very small rings.
In a large bowl add buttermilk and water.
Take out rings one at a time and coat them with flour then with buttermilk, and then coat with cornmeal.
Drop into hot oil and fry till golden.
Drain on paper towels.
