Ingredients:
3 cups shelled fresh purple-hull peas
2 cups water
1/3 cup cubed lean ham
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 45 minutes-1 hour or until peas are tender.
