Ingredients:
1 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 dash red peppers
to taste chives (optional)
1 tablespoon onions, grated
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
In a separate bowl beat egg and milk together.
Add to dry ingredients and stir.
Stir in onion, red pepper and chives, if using.
Drop by spoonfuls into hot fat in a deep fryer, 375 degrees, and fry until golden brown.
