Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs beef, ground
1/4 cup onions, minced
1 teaspoon salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
1 large eggs
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
dill pickles or pickle relish
catsup
onions or tomatoes, slices
cheddar cheese, slices
prepared mustard
horseradish
1 onions, finely chopped
American cheese
1/4 cup American cheese or 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard, yellow or Dijon
2 tablespoons mayonnaise or 2 tablespoons salad dressing
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 ounces canned mild green chilies, chopped
green chilies, to taste ( whatever you prefer) (optional)
jalapenos, to taste ( if you like) (optional)
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except the fillings.
Shape mixture into 12 thin patties, each about 3 1/2-inches in diameter.
Top each of 6 patties with a filling, spreading to within 1/2-inch of the edge.
Cover with a remaining patty, sealing the edges firmly.
Broil or grill patties 4-inches from the heat, carefully turning once, to the desired doneness, about 10 minutes.
PEPPY CHEESE FILLING: Mix all ingredients.
