Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs ground turkey breast
4 slices whole wheat bread, soaked in
1/4 cup water
2 egg whites
1/2 large onions, chopped
2 stalks scallions, medium chopped
1 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
1/2 red bell peppers, finely chopped
1 small carrots, finely chopped
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon seasoning salt ( e.g. Lawry’s brand)
1 tablespoon gravy master seasoning and browning sauce
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons honey or 2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 dash Tabasco sauce (optional)
Directions:
In a large bowl, thoroughly combine the ground turkey, soaked bread and egg whites.
Add all remaining ingredients to the turkey mixture (except those listed for the sauce) and combine with your hands or a mixing spoon.
Bake uncovered in a greased loafpan at approximately 400 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Combine all the ingredients for the sauce in a bowl.
Spread sauce on top of meatloaf and bake for an additional 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
